SOME OPTICAL SYSTEMS ARE SO DESIGNED THAT READINGS OF DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSITE POINTS OF THE CIRCLES ARE MECHANICALLY AVERAGED. THE INSTRUMENTS ARE LEVELED BY THREE LEVELING SCREWS.
